Sinners Anonymous by Somme Sketcher

Sinners Anonymous Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) — Sin, Steam & a Slow Burn That Delivers 😈🔥

Alright… let’s just get this out of the way: I was NOT prepared for this level of smut. 😂

Like… I went in expecting dark mafia romance. What I got was dark mafia romance + tension so thick you could slice it + delayed gratification that should honestly be illegal.

And honestly? I had a great time.

⚠️ Trigger Warnings (Read This First!)

  • Sexual content (very explicit 😅)

  • Light BDSM (consensual but still worth noting)

  • Physical abuse

  • Emotional abuse

  • Violence & murder

  • Suicidal ideation

  • Sexual coercion/harassment

  • Illness (dementia)

🚨 Spoiler Warning — FULL Plot + Ending Below

If you don’t want to know everything, stop here!

🖤 Overview: Dark Romance Done Right

Sinners Anonymous by Somme Sketcher is a dark mafia romance built around one of the most addictive premises I’ve seen in a while:

👉 An anonymous confession hotline
👉 That is secretly run by dangerous men…
👉 Who punish the worst sinners 😳

I mean?? Immediately hooked.

And yes — this book absolutely leans into:

  • Morally gray antiheroes

  • Power, control, and manipulation

  • “I shouldn’t want him but I REALLY do” energy

🔥 The Plot (With FULL SPOILERS)

🕊️ The Setup: Rory’s Bad Situation Gets Worse

Rory Carter is basically trapped in a nightmare. She agrees to marry Alberto Visconti, an abusive mafia capo, to protect her father and her town.

Her life is already hanging by a thread when—
💥 Enter Angelo “Vicious” Visconti

  • Her fiancé’s nephew

  • Her past connection

  • And oh yeah… the man running the Sinners Anonymous hotline where she’s been confessing her secrets

No big deal 🙂

☎️ The Hotline Twist (SO GOOD)

The hotline isn’t just for venting…

It’s a weapon.

Angelo and his brothers literally:

  • Collect confessions

  • Decide who deserves punishment

  • And then… act on it

Case in point:
👉 Angelo straight-up kills Max at the dinner table because of a confession

Casual. Unhinged. Iconic.

🔥 The Slow Burn (PAINFULLY DELICIOUS)

Let’s talk about the tension.

Because WOW.

This is the definition of a slow burn:

  • Stolen glances 👀

  • Power plays

  • Control dynamics

  • Scenes that feel like they should tip over into spice… but don’t

And when things finally escalate??

Yeah. It’s worth the wait 😏

Also worth noting:
👉 There’s light BDSM elements (including a punishment scene in an abandoned church 😳)

💔 Rory’s Motivation (Actually Compelling!)

Rory isn’t just stuck in a bad relationship—she’s fighting for:

  • Her father (who has dementia 💔)

  • The Devil’s Preserve, a piece of land tied to his memory

  • Her own survival

It gives her decisions real weight, which I appreciated in a genre that sometimes skips that part.

💣 The Climax: Chaos, Power Moves & Murder

Things spiral FAST toward the end:

  • Alberto reveals the marriage contract is basically a lie

  • Rory decides: fine, I’ll just kill him myself

  • She plans to lure him to a cliff (honestly, respect the initiative)

BUT—

👉 Angelo intercepts her
👉 Reveals he’s reclaiming his role as capo
👉 And then…

💥 Kills Alberto himself

Clean. Efficient. Slightly romantic (???)

👑 The Ending: Mafia King Energy

After Alberto’s death:

  • Angelo takes over the empire

  • Forces Alberto's son, Dante to accept him as leader

  • Claims Rory as his

And one month later:

💍 They’re married
🌲 At the Preserve (so her dad can recognize her even with dementia😭)

BUT—because peace is illegal in mafia romance—

💣 The port gets blown up
⚔️ War is coming

And Rory?

👉 She’s ready for it

💭 My Thoughts

This book is honestly just… a good time.

✔️ The premise is addictive
✔️ The tension is top-tier
✔️ The spice is… plentiful 😅
✔️ The pacing? Slow burn done RIGHT

My only reason it’s not 5 stars:

  • It leans a little heavy on certain tropes

  • And you definitely have to be on board with dark romance logic

But overall?

👉 Fun, dramatic, slightly unhinged, and very bingeable

  • Brutal Prince by Sophie Lark

  • The Sweetest Oblivion by Danielle Lori

  • Ruthless Creatures by J.T. Geissinger

Final Rating: 4/5

A steamy, tension-filled dark romance with a killer premise (literally) and a slow burn that absolutely pays off 🔥

If you’ve read this one, I NEED to know—
👉 Were you expecting that level of spice?? 😅
