Oh my this was good!! Just that perfect balance of romance, suspense, mystery and smut! This is one of the best books I've read this year.

This story is a about 26 year old, Cecelia Horner, reflecting on her life from 7 years ago when she was 19. She left her home in Peachtree City and drove to Triple Falls, North Carolina, to live with her father. Her father Roman Horner is the owner of a successful company, Horner Technologies. Roman was never close to Cecelia, but she was hoping by living with him for a year and working at Horner Technologies, he would let her inherit his wealth. 

While working at Horner, she befriends her boss Sean Roberts and they start dating. Sean is pretty nice and looks good too. Sean's friend, Dominic King, is also very good looking but he's not so nice to Cecelia. Sean tells Cecelia to ignore him but she can't, as she feels a sexual attraction to him. Eventually, Sean suggests she can date both of them. So she starts having sex with both of them, even threesomes. She's quite happy and surprised that this is going so smoothly.

Cecelia doesn't tell her mom or her best friend Christy about this throuple relationship because she's afraid they wouldn't understand. She also discovers that Sean and Dominic are members of some secret club called The Ravenhood. What's up with birds and secret societies? This is giving me flashbacks of The Midnight Feast big time, which I just read less than a week ago.

Cecelia tries to figure out what The Ravenhood is about. She learns that they steal money from large corporations to help out the small. Kind of like Robinhood. She's cool with this. I'm thinking there's more to this.

One day, out of nowhere, Sean and Dominic dump Cecelia. Cecelia is heartbroken. She takes a two week leave and goes home to be with her mom and Christy. When she comes back, the two men are mad at her for leaving and tell her the truth - that they had only been dating her because they wanted to use her to get to Horner Technologies. They believe that Cecelia's father Roman killed Dominic's parents and Horner Technologies is involved in illegal activities. They used Cecelia to be able to plant bugs in her house etc. They dumped her when they realized they were catching feelings. Now they want her to leave them alone so they can continue their investigation. Cecelia is not cool with this. She decides to seduce them by laying topless near the family pool and blasts a song on repeat since she knows those two intercept her home network system. But instead of Sean or Dominic, some attractive man shows up. The END. WHAT??? You are going to leave me at a cliffhanger?!! Does that mean I have to read the next two books!!?? Ugh!! I might just have to. This was so good!!

  I loved this book. It kept me at the edge of my seat and I didn't see the final twist coming. The story follows two couples. First is Jake and Nina.   Incidents Around the House is a horror story about a girl named Bela and her family. The author Josh Malerman has done a phenomenal job of setting up that creepy eerie feeling throughout the book.  Incidents Around the House tells the story of an 8 year old girl named Bela who is haunted by an entity she refers to as "Other Mommy". She lives in a house with her father Russ and mother Ursula. Other Mommy would appear in her room quite often and ask to enter her heart. Bela always tells her no, but Other Mommy is increasingly more demanding. Other Mommy becomes more and more omnipresent as Russ and Ursula's marriage deteriorates. They argue often and get drunk often. Ursula also cheats on Russ and often comes home late (or sometimes doesn't come home at all). Bela tells her parents about Other Mommy, and eventually gets their attention.   Oof. Another one that started out pretty strong and got more and more boring as the book went on. The Last Thing He Told Me is told through the narration of Hannah Hall, a 40 year old woodturner who is looking to solve the mystery of her husband Owen's disappearance. Initially, it is believed that her husband is on the run from some illegal activities involving his company, but as thriller readers, we know that we will likely find out this isn't the case. I was quite intrigued at the beginning, but the book turned out to be more of a mystery than a thriller - I never felt like I was on the edge of my seat, I was merely curious of where the story was going to go.
