After reading The Housemaid (fun writing, but the story didn’t blow me away), I gave The Teacher a chance. And wow — this one delivered!

🌼 Eve Bennett’s Perfect Life? Yeah Right.

  • Married to Nate, the “good guy teacher”

  • Big house, no passion, no kids

  • Career drama: Her mentor Art left the school in disgrace over a scandal with student Addie Severson

👑 Addie’s World

  • Bullied by Kenzie, abandoned by former BFF Hudson

  • Finds comfort in poetry and (uh oh) in Nate

  • Nate encourages her to write for the school mag… and then they’re sneaking into the darkroom

💣 THE BIG TWISTS

✅ Jay is actually Hudson — Addie’s old BFF, hiding in plain sight. He helps Eve take down Nate.

✅ Eve was Nate’s first victim. Yep. She was his student years ago. Nate seduced her just like he did Kenzie and Addie — using the same poem every time (Poe’s “The Raven” — the man was lazy and creepy).

✅ Nate’s M.O. = seduce, manipulate, destroy. Until Eve turned the tables.

🕰 Six Months Later…

  • Nate’s “missing” (we know better 😉)

  • Eve is gone

  • Addie, Kenzie, and Hudson/Jay are all friends again

  • Addie hopes for romance with Hudson

  • The bird ending — okay, Freida, we get it. Poe. But the symbolism was a bit much 😂
