šŸ“š The Teacher by Freida McFadden — Full Spoiler Review

⚠️ Big spoilers ahead! I’m about to spill all the secrets — the twists, the betrayals, the jaw-dropping ending. Proceed at your own risk if you haven’t read it!

🌟 My Rating:

šŸ‘‰ 5 out of 5 stars — This was everything I wanted: fast, shocking, full of shady characters, and impossible to put down.

Why I Picked This Up

After reading The Housemaid (fun writing, but the story didn’t blow me away), I gave The Teacher a chance. And wow — this one delivered!

If you’re into:

  • Twists that keep you guessing

  • Characters flipping from good to evil and back again

  • Red herrings galore

šŸ‘‰ This book will hook you.

šŸ“ The Teacher — Plot Summary (with spoilers!)

🌼 Eve Bennett’s Perfect Life? Yeah Right.

  • Married to Nate, the “good guy teacher”

  • Big house, no passion, no kids

  • Career drama: Her mentor Art left the school in disgrace over a scandal with student Addie Severson

šŸ‘‘ Addie’s World

  • Bullied by Kenzie, abandoned by former BFF Hudson

  • Finds comfort in poetry and (uh oh) in Nate

  • Nate encourages her to write for the school mag… and then they’re sneaking into the darkroom

  • First kisses, then it gets physical

šŸ”„ The Explosion

  • Eve spots Nate kissing Addie

  • Confronts Nate → demands a divorce, the house, his job, and that he quit teaching

  • Nate agrees… until Addie shows up at Eve’s house

  • Addie clocks Eve with a frying pan 😬

  • Nate strangles Eve

  • They bury her at a pumpkin patch

šŸŒ™ But Eve Survives

  • Wakes up in the dirt like the ultimate final girl

  • Plans revenge

  • Starts messing with Nate’s head — ravens, shoes, cryptic notes

  • Lures him back to the patch

  • Buries him alive (with help from “Jay”)

šŸ’£ THE BIG TWISTS

Jay is actually Hudson — Addie’s old BFF, hiding in plain sight. He helps Eve take down Nate.

Eve was Nate’s first victim. Yep. She was his student years ago. Nate seduced her just like he did Kenzie and Addie — using the same poem every time (Poe’s “The Raven” — the man was lazy and creepy).

✅ Nate’s M.O. = seduce, manipulate, destroy. Until Eve turned the tables.

šŸ•° Six Months Later…

  • Nate’s “missing” (we know better šŸ˜‰)

  • Eve is gone

  • Addie, Kenzie, and Hudson/Jay are all friends again

  • Addie hopes for romance with Hudson

šŸ’¬ What I Loved

✅ So many twists and turns I couldn’t stop reading
✅ Fast, binge-worthy pacing
✅ That satisfying revenge arc

šŸ™„ What Made Me Roll My Eyes (Just a Little)

  • The bird ending — okay, Freida, we get it. Poe. But the symbolism was a bit much šŸ˜‚
