🌟 My Rating

👉 4.5 out of 5 stars — fun ride, but I saw the ending coming (which almost never happens for me, because let’s face it, I’m usually too lazy to guess!).

🤔 Why I Enjoyed It (Even With the Predictability)

✅ Kept me turning the pages — I had to see how it all played out, even though I had a hunch.
✅ Delicious punishment for the cheater — Adam got what was coming, folks.
✅ Conveniently evil ending — I mean, nothing says true love like plotting a murder together, right?

📖 The Perfect Marriage — Detailed Plot Summary (SPOILERS!)

👫 Meet Sarah and Adam

  • Sarah: superstar defense attorney who’s married to her job (and a loser husband).

  • Adam: struggling wannabe author, fragile ego, and professional cheater.

  • Setting: D.C. and a cozy (murdery) lake house in Virginia.

🌶 Adam’s Affair

  • Adam’s having an affair with Kelly Summers, a waitress who says her cop husband beats her (hmm).

  • Fun fact: Kelly’s real name is Jenna Way, and she’s got a messy, murderous past.

🔪 Kelly’s Death

  • Adam and Kelly hook up at the lake house on his 10th anniversary (classy).

  • Next morning: Kelly’s stabbed 37 times.

  • Adam gets charged with the murder — and Sarah, the queen of courtroom drama, decides to defend him.

⚖️ The Trial (AKA Adam’s Doom)

  • Adam’s a mess: he breaks house arrest, his mom blames Sarah for everything (of course), and the whole trial is a trainwreck.

  • Sarah digs into Kelly’s past and uncovers three sets of DNA: Adam, Scott (Kelly’s husband), and mystery man #3 (hint: it’s the sheriff 👀).

  • Despite Sarah’s efforts (or so it seems), Adam is convicted and sentenced to death.

💥 The Big Twist

  • Turns out, Sarah plotted the whole thing with Bob (her coworker and Kelly’s ex-brother-in-law).

  • They wanted revenge on Kelly and Adam — murder buddies for life!

  • The sheriff? He was sleeping with Kelly too. Sarah kept his DNA secret to help her plan.

  • Flash forward: Adam is executed while Sarah watches with Bob, her soon-to-be husband. Oh, and they have a kid together already (because why not?).
